Beat the Beetus

Name is Shelby. I am a type 1 diabetic. I have this blog to share my life as a diabetic. Help those that I can. Of any type.Though I will be able to relate to type 1 a lot more. I won't pretend to know something medically if I don't. I won't give straight out medical advice (very limited exceptions) because all of us our different with our bodies. I don't want to risk your life because something works for me. I will ask for advice and give advice. Gain support and give support. It's always nice to have people who can relate to you. <3 Feel free to ask me anything, suggest food and things that help motivate you to take better care of yourself.

I love you all! =D

Hi! First of all, I'm a Type 1 in Canada, so it'll depend on where you are. For pain killers, I generally stick to Ibuprofen (store or generic brands). I also prefer Advil and Motrin to Tylenol. I never take Aspirin. There is some proof that in diabetics considered highest-risk for heart disease and stroke benefitted somewhat from asa (aspirin) therapy, but that it had little to no effect in general on diabetics. I take a beta blocking ace inhibitor (4mg) a day for general kidney maintenance...

I’m replying to all of these in one. But going to post them all for others to read you gave a lot of great information thank you. If you wouldn’t mind telling me what does a beta blocking ace inhibitor do for your kidneys? I am quite ignorant on that. I used to be so bad at drinking juice. I still drink it when I shouldn’t. Only juice I’ll ever drink now is cranberry juice though. No more than 8 oz every other day and typically it’s just with a meal. I really have been lazy on switching to the supplements for it. Biggest weakness is sweet tea. Equal makes it taste close to being “real” sweet tea so  far. So if I ate the fruit instead of drinking the juice would I still have all the benefits of the juice but less sugar? Don’t apologize for your reply being so long. I just have so many questions which I in turn apologize for. Hoping someone else gets information from this and it helps them. =D Thanks for the reply and hope you are doing wonderful!
