Beat the Beetus

Name is Shelby. I am a type 1 diabetic. I have this blog to share my life as a diabetic. Help those that I can. Of any type.Though I will be able to relate to type 1 a lot more. I won't pretend to know something medically if I don't. I won't give straight out medical advice (very limited exceptions) because all of us our different with our bodies. I don't want to risk your life because something works for me. I will ask for advice and give advice. Gain support and give support. It's always nice to have people who can relate to you. <3 Feel free to ask me anything, suggest food and things that help motivate you to take better care of yourself.

I love you all! =D
hi! just followed and saw your post about your A1C!! congrats! i just got mine down from 13.8 to 11.0 in a month! :) 11 is the lowest it's been in 4 yrs and my lowest ever was a 10. they want me to do it slowly, though, because i guess it can send your body into shock. have you had any negative side effects of such a quick drop in A1C?

Thanks for the follow! And i’m very happy to hear that you have gotten it down. Keep it up! And actually I didn’t have too much of a problem with that while getting it down. I will say I may have got it down too much too fast but not a whole lot. Maybe an 8.5 would of been a lot better. The thing is is that keeping yourself in a hyperglycemic state like that for so long your body adjusts to it. So pain doesn’t affect you as much. You get used to it. As it goes down you’ll recognize side pains, leg and feet more often. You have become numb to it after so long of that. It will take a few weeks of getting used to it but it is worth it trust me. Regardless it will bring pain of some sort by bringing it down. I never had it mentioned once that it would of been better to do it slowly. Then again maybe it could of. I’d ask more doctors though. Now I have no pain from it though.
