Beat the Beetus

Name is Shelby. I am a type 1 diabetic. I have this blog to share my life as a diabetic. Help those that I can. Of any type.Though I will be able to relate to type 1 a lot more. I won't pretend to know something medically if I don't. I won't give straight out medical advice (very limited exceptions) because all of us our different with our bodies. I don't want to risk your life because something works for me. I will ask for advice and give advice. Gain support and give support. It's always nice to have people who can relate to you. <3 Feel free to ask me anything, suggest food and things that help motivate you to take better care of yourself.

I love you all! =D

hey girl, i saw you post about being low constantly. same here! alwwaaaays hypo. make sure you're getting enough protein! one of my doctors mentioned to me that her rule of thumb is 15 g of protein per meal (she is also a type 1, so i take her word as gold haha). hope that helps! good luck with your upcoming a1c! mine is tomorrow (first since diagnosis in november, yikes!)

It’s not fun! And sometimes just flat out scares me. The hardest thing about my protein issue is A LOT of things with protein have cholesterol in them. Dairy products, eggs, and other things. It’s difficult sometimes. I have been a cardiac patient for over 2 years now. Thank you though. I actually ignore the protein part and I know I shouldn’t. I need to do searches and find what is high in protein. I typically forget, besides peanut butter! You are lucky to have a doctor who also is Type 1. Envy you there! Sometimes it’s just way better to get advice and help from someone who can relate. And thank you good luck to you as well! Mine went fantastic! =D
