Beat the Beetus

Name is Shelby. I am a type 1 diabetic. I have this blog to share my life as a diabetic. Help those that I can. Of any type.Though I will be able to relate to type 1 a lot more. I won't pretend to know something medically if I don't. I won't give straight out medical advice (very limited exceptions) because all of us our different with our bodies. I don't want to risk your life because something works for me. I will ask for advice and give advice. Gain support and give support. It's always nice to have people who can relate to you. <3 Feel free to ask me anything, suggest food and things that help motivate you to take better care of yourself.

I love you all! =D

So… I hate I mean hate taking a shower or bath getting my hair nice……. I’m so fresh and so clean, clean.

I decide to take a nap and get a hypo during it waking up all sweaty and crappy looking. The shower 3 hours before completely pointless now.

Also getting a hypo in the shower is one of the worst for me. I’m just in there like “maybe, just maybe, I can make it to the end.”

“uh oh, what if I fall and pass out, and they find me an unconscious naked prune.”

This is why I have decided as of today that I will have a snack in the bathroom. Something to get it up fast. Maybe a juice box next to my toothpaste and hair straightener.  Yup, sounds good.

So here is a JOKE!

A young man wearing a cowboy hat, jeans and a beat up pair of boots shows up a support group for diabetic women. The ladies take note of his presence, but don’t ask him to leave. Everyone goes around taking turns talking about when they were diagnosed what type they are and any tips they have for the newcomers for staying strong in the face of this disease. Finally one of the women’s curiosity gets the best of her and she speaks to the young man.

“Young man, do you realize that you are at a Support Group for Diabetic Women?”

“Yes ma’am I do” he responds politely tipping his hat.

“Do you mind if I ask why you are here?”

“Well ma’am, I just moved here to the city and my momma told me that I should make sure to settle down and find myself a real sweet woman. Way I figure it, there are lots of sweet women here.”

I think it’s flippin cute! =D

Oh, I was 102 when I woke up this morning! WHOOHOO! =D
