160 followers! THANK YOU!
I love you all! =D This is amazing. Truly.  Also if i could I would give a free vial of insulin to all my followers! That’d be nice and out to dinner. But I can’t =( Is this ok ??? I mean it’s the thought that holds the real meaning, right?    Also I have tried to follow every single one of my followers back. If I am not following you I apologize. Tell me and...

mskassinova asked: Stick to "zero" (as in sugar-free, not no sugar added) drinks. When my electrolytes are out of whack I drink a lot of powerade zero. Egg whites and lean fish and chicken is great for protein. If your electrolytes are in serious need of a boost, see a pharmacist. Most shelf electrolytes have sugar in them. Because you're diabetic, you want the ones that don't have sugar- they...

mskassinova asked: ...I prefer splenda. It does not spike my sugars at all. I prefer equal and sweet n low to sugar twin. Cyclamate and sucralose are the best. Stevia has a weird aftertaste I could never get used to, even though it's healthier. Aspartame-based sweeteners are still considered risky, especially while pregnant. STOP DRINKING FRUIT JUICES. I thought this was good for me too, when I was diagnosed....

mskassinova asked: Hi! First of all, I'm a Type 1 in Canada, so it'll depend on where you are. For pain killers, I generally stick to Ibuprofen (store or generic brands). I also prefer Advil and Motrin to Tylenol. I never take Aspirin. There is some proof that in diabetics considered highest-risk for heart disease and stroke benefitted somewhat from asa (aspirin) therapy, but that it had little to no...

My Birthday!
Not a good day to be diabetic. Cupcakes! =D  Yeah, a lot of insulin used today! =D   And not to mention I got a lot of candy for my birthday. Seriously…… look:  I ate one of the Hershey bars already and gave away my snickers. I also got a couple of Fuze drinks. Which they have like 1g of sugar so that’s ok. But seriously, my family must HATE me haha.  I am glad I...

Questions. Oh and humagloban A1c.....
So I was curious as to if there is a better pain killer (ibuprofen, tylenol, aspirin, etc.) that is better or worse for diabetics? I haven’t found much on it and always forget to ask my doctor. Just the best common medicines to use when diabetic. Cold medicine, pain killers, acid reducers, things like midol and such. Not too up to date on the medicine types. Also your favorite sugar...

heresthethingaboutit asked: hi! just followed and saw your post about your A1C!! congrats! i just got mine down from 13.8 to 11.0 in a month! :) 11 is the lowest it's been in 4 yrs and my lowest ever was a 10. they want me to do it slowly, though, because i guess it can send your body into shock. have you had any negative side effects of such a quick drop in A1C?

WatchWatch
Ok, I cried when I saw this. I actually passed out behind the wheel before. Almost hit a child. No one was hurt thank goodness. But still it’s such a scary thing. I don’t remember anything either. But unlike him that is what haunts me the most.  Two thoughts: as soon as they find insulin in his pocket just hurts me.  and WHY THE HECK are they laughing at the end?!? If the story...

My apologies
I havent’ been blogging on here.  I am dealing with some nerve problems in my back and potential blood clots. Hasn’t been fun. It’s not from diabetes for once either. So much pain though. I promise soon I shall entertain and answer messages on the regular again.
